In late 2021, to commemorate the 80th anniversary year of The Battle of Hong Kong, filmmaker Viveka Melki spoke, via Zoom, at a sold-out in-person supper & event hosted by The Foreign Correspondents’ Club Hong Kong. Following the screening of her film The FENCE, Viveka and Hong Kong historian Dr. Kwong Chi Man, who is featured in the film, answered questions from the over 100 international journalists attending. Also attending was Rachael Bedlington, Consul General of Canada, Hong Kong. Due to demand, the Foreign Correspondents’ Club will be hosting a second event with Viveka and Dr. Kwong Chi Man this Spring.
